Yemeni forces expand aerial and naval restrictions amid Gaza conflict

A senior official from Yemen’s Ansarullah movement has warned that military strikes on Israeli airports are imminent. Yemen’s Armed Forces recently launched ballistic missiles at Ben Gurion Airport and vowed to enforce a comprehensive blockade on Israel. Yemeni officials insist that retaliatory measures will continue until Israel ends its aggression in Gaza.

AhlulBayt News Agency: A senior official from Yemen's Ansarullah movement has warned that Yemeni Armed Forces will soon carry out military strikes on Ben Gurion Airport and other airports across the Israeli-occupied territories.

Nasr al-Din Amer, deputy head of Ansarullah’s Media Authority, issued this warning on Sunday, just hours after declaring all airports in the occupied territories as unsafe zones.

He stated that this decision was made in response to Israel’s escalation in Gaza and aggression against Yemen. He emphasized that the Yemeni leadership remains committed to enforcing a ban on Israeli airports, extending its naval blockade, and closing the Umm al-Rashrash port until Israel ends its attacks and lifts the siege on Gaza.

Amer called on all remaining airlines to leave immediately, urging passengers—especially foreigners—to evacuate for their own safety.

Earlier in the day, Amer discussed plans to impose a “no-fly zone” over Israeli airports. He reaffirmed that retaliatory attacks would continue until Israel halts its war in Gaza.

On Sunday, Yemen’s Armed Forces launched two ballistic missiles targeting Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv.

Since late 2023, Yemeni forces have been conducting pro-Gaza operations, including a naval blockade on Israeli vessels.

Earlier in May, they expanded their strategy by imposing a comprehensive aerial blockade on Israel. International airlines were warned to suspend flights to airports in occupied territories for passenger safety.
